Introduction
3D Technology in Medicine Centre, VinUniversity (Lab 3D) was established in December 2021. With the mission of promoting the trend of personalized treatment, Lab 3D has successfully researched and applied the latest 3D printing technologies in the world. Lab 3D’s 3D products are recognized as Intellectual Property by the National Office of Intellectual Property. 3D models and Patient-Specific Instrumentation are licensed for production and commercialization by the Ministry of Health. The main products of Lab 3D that are being routinely deployed include personalized 3D printing: anatomical models to support medical diagnosis and training, pre-operative simulation planning, patient-specific instrumentation, and biomedical implant devices.
With the above production plans, the application of 3D technology is considered the fastest way to help Vietnamese medicine in the future move towards the goal of successfully designing and manufacturing implants and “personalized” artificial joints, suitable for the indicators and anthropometric characteristics of Vietnamese patients.
Lab 3D, under the College of Health Sciences, is located in buildings G and H of VinUniversity. Lab 3D has invested significantly in the world’s leading modern 3D design and printing equipment system. With more than 3 years of operation, Lab 3D has been honored to receive international standard certifications with quality management system certification (ISO 9001:2015) and medical equipment quality management system (ISO 13485:2016). Up to now, in Vietnam, there are very few units that have achieved ISO certification in the field of medical equipment manufacturing, emphasizing the importance and pioneering nature of the products. The Center has also published many scientific articles in international journals and won major awards such as Champion of the Medical Technovation Competition 2022, 2 Second Prizes of the Scientific Innovation Competition in 2022 and 2023, and other awards.

Providing breakthrough 3D printing solutions, improving the quality of treatment, training, and scientific research. Building a comprehensive medical 3D printing ecosystem promotes collaboration and innovation in the region.
Mission: Improve the safety and quality of healthcare in Vietnam by applying breakthrough 3D printing solutions that ensure the most accurate quality, the most suitable cost and the fastest time.
