“The advisory program, especially the Peer and Faculty Advising Group, has brought incredibly valuable support to new students like me. Upon entering the university, feelings of nervousness and unfamiliarity were inevitable. However, meeting my advisors and mentors, I found empathy and helpful advice that quickly helped me settle in.

The Individual Development Plan (IDP) also plays a key role in guiding me. Previously, I had not considered planning my future, but with support from Dr. Hoàng Lan Vân, my Generic Advisor, I learned how to set both short-term and long-term goals. My advisor emphasized that I did not need to write anything vague—just to be honest with myself and show my passion.

Moreover, stories from my Peer Advisor, Mr. Đoàn Quốc Lộc, offered me a more profound perspective on life, helping me to reframe my goals and grow in confidence as I journey through my studies at VinUniversity. When the group completed our plans, a surge of pride filled me, not only from personal commitment but also from the spirit of unity and mutual effort we shared. I realized that the advisory program had given us, especially Cohort 5 students, a precious chance to reflect, understand ourselves better, and strengthen connections, breaking down barriers when meeting new friends. This experience laid the foundation for each of us to explore our strengths, unlock hidden potential, and step out of our comfort zones toward new horizons.

I believe that the advisory program will continue to bring invaluable support and exceptional value to VinUni’s new students as they pursue their dreams and passions. Because no matter the challenges in academics, extracurriculars, or aspects of health—both physical and mental—we always have mentors, friends, and teachers ready to share in every joy, success, or struggle.”
