Journal club with orthopaedic residents
Journal Club is an academic forum where orthopaedic surgery residents critically analyze and discuss medical literature, evaluating the applicability of research findings to clinical practice. This monthly activity is a core component of the VinUni Orthopaedic Residency Program, designed to promote critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and a lifelong learning mindset.
🔹 What Makes Journal Club at VinUni Unique?
At VinUni, the Journal Club embraces modern medical education principles by empowering residents to take an active role at every stage. Residents are encouraged to select research articles based on specific clinical questions arising from real patient cases, hypothetical scenarios, or recent advancements in the field. 2️⃣ Preparation: Articles are distributed one week in advance, allowing all participants ample time for thorough analysis and discussion preparation.
3️⃣ Structured Discussion: The use of Critical Appraisal Tools ensures a systematic, focused, and high-yield discussion.
4️⃣ Clinical Application: The group explores how research findings can be integrated into clinical decision-making to improve patient care.
