Proud Moment for VinUni’s Nursing Program: Celebrating International Nurses Day

July 8, 2024

On Sunday, May 12th, our Bachelor of Nursing Program came together with the College of Health Sciences (CHS) faculty to celebrate International Nurses Day in a truly remarkable event. International Nurses Day is an annual event celebrated globally on 12 May, the birthday of the pioneer of the nursing profession, Florence Nightingale. The celebration is to commemorate her great contributions to the formation and development of the modern nursing career, as well as society’s recognition and honor of the role of nurses in human care, especially patient care.

The event started with a series of impressive performances and ice-breaking dances by our talented Nursing students, serving as a testament to the comprehensive education and training our students receive.

Bonding game activities added a fun and interactive element to the celebration, fostering camaraderie and a strong sense of community among students and faculty alike. These activities emphasized the importance of teamwork and collaboration in nursing, essential skills that our program continually strives to develop.

A highlight of the day was the meaningful storytelling and “enlightening” session where students and faculty shared their personal experiences and journeys in nursing. These stories underscored the resilience, compassion, and dedication that are the hallmarks of our nursing community. At the closing of our Progran Director’s speech, we all lighted a small lamp together to pay tribute to Ms. Florence Nightingale – “The Lady with the Lamp” of healthcare history. The session was a poignant reminder of why we pursue this noble profession and the profound difference we make in the lives of our patients.

Our International Nurses Day celebration was more than just an event; it was a vibrant display of the essence of nursing excellence. We are immensely proud of our nursing students and their unwavering commitment to healthcare. As we continue to inspire and uplift each other, we look forward to many more such moments that celebrate the spirit of nursing.
