VinUniversity 3D Technology in Medicine Center
The VinUniversity 3D Technology in Medicine Center established in December 2021, has the mission of promoting the trend of personalized treatment through research, successful application of new surgical techniques, manufacturing 3D anatomical models, patient-specific instruments, and personalized implants to enhance treatment quality, and increasing patients and customers satisfaction.
The 3D Center has a significant investment in 3D printer systems and leading modern equipment in the world. The center is also run by top experts in the field of orthopedic, most notably Prof. Tran Trung Dzung, Director of Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center, Vinmec Times City International Hospital, Head of Orthopedic Department, and Director of 3D Technology in Medicine Center, VinUni.
With more than 2 years of operation, 3D Technology in Medicine Center is honored to receive the international certification of the quality management system ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO 13485: 2016. The Center also published numerous scientific articles in international journals and earned big awards as Champion of Medical Technovation, two Second Prizes in the Science Innovation Contest 2022-2023, and others.
Currently, the center has two main research laboratories:
- 3D polymer printing laboratory
- 3D metal printing laboratory, aiming towards a near future where the 3D Technology Center in Medicine, VinUni, is the first unit capable of producing personalized implants for patients in Vietnam.
Teaching Labs for Preclinical Sciences
At the College of Health Sciences, preclinical teaching laboratories were established for students to practice basic medical sciences. Currently, there are four laboratories including Vesalius Lab for teaching gross anatomy, Yersin Lab for teaching biological sciences, Mendeleev Lab for teaching chemistry, and Virtual Lab for experimental practices on digital platforms.
The spaces are set up to high standards with smart and modern educational technologies, research-grade instruments, and active learning environments. Students have chances to gain hands-on experience anywhere from common experimental and analysis techniques in a wet lab to performing virtual dissection on an interactive anatomy table. The labs are a welcome place for students to explore, discover, and gain invaluable experience while studying at VinUni.
VinUniversity Medical Simulation Center
The VinUniversity Medical Simulation Center (VMSC) was established in July 2017 and aims to enhance the quality of medical practice, patient safety, and satisfaction through effective simulation in healthcare.
