On March 10, 2025, the College of Health Sciences (CHS) at VinUniversity and the University of Alberta (UAlberta) officially launched a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing health education, research, and faculty development. This collaboration marks a significant step toward advancing global health initiatives and fostering academic excellence.
The partnership was formalized during a productive meeting featuring leaders and faculty from both institutions. Key areas of collaboration were identified, including the development of an International Faculty Development Program with Dr. Mia Lang, providing opportunities for VinUniversity students to engage in international training and enabling faculty members to co-create a similar program at VinUni. Additionally, both universities discussed potential research collaborations to address global health challenges.
Another highlight of the meeting was the opportunity for Dr. Phuoc Le from VinUniversity to collaborate with Dr. Pierre Chu from UAlberta on the development of VinUni’s Psychiatry program, set to launch within the next two years. The institutions also explored the idea of co-hosting a symposium at VinUniversity, showcasing joint teaching and research efforts.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to innovation in medical education and research, aiming to empower the next generation of healthcare leaders. Both VinUniversity and the University of Alberta are excited about the future collaborations that will arise from this alliance.
