VinUniversity, Vinmec, and PPD Forge Groundbreaking Partnership to Advance Clinical Research

On January 22, 2025, VinUniversity, Vinmec, and the PPD™ clinical research business of Thermo Fisher Scientific officially signed a MOU at Vinmec, marking the beginning of a transformative partnership in clinical research and cell therapy development. This collaboration sets the stage for groundbreaking advancements in healthcare and reinforces Vietnam’s position in the global clinical research community.

The agreement outlines a comprehensive framework to enhance clinical research capabilities. Vinmec and VinUni will play pivotal roles as part of the PPD clinical site network, supporting PPD clinical research clients and facilitating connections to Vietnam’s leading research facilities. Their cell therapy research staff will also integrate into the PPD global cell therapy investigator network, promoting patient-centric solutions in cutting-edge research.

As part of the partnership, Thermo Fisher Scientific’s PPD clinical research business will provide access to its proprietary Cell Therapy SiteCoach™ Clinical Site Training Program, bolstering Vinmec and VinUni’s capacity to achieve their vision of becoming world-leading research institutions. In addition, the collaboration extends to joint research initiatives, including grant writing, manuscript development, and presentations at seminars and conferences. The parties will also work together to educate health authorities and hospital partners on the latest developments in cell therapy clinical research.

Vinmec and VinUni’s designation as a PPD Select Site further cements their leadership in clinical research within the region. The partnership also opens opportunities for annual face-to-face meetings between the organizations to foster continuous improvement and communication.
