BONDOLOGY OVERVIEW
“Bondology” – a name inspired by the word “bonding” meaning “connection” – is an initiative created by the House Staff Council (HSC) of the Internal Medicine Residency Program to provide a space for connection and sharing among members of the extended family of residents across generations.
First launched in May 2024, over nearly two years, Bondology has gradually become a traditional social event, continuously maintained and passed on to future generations of residents.
With the slogan “Healing – Sharing – Connecting” a typical Bondology event consists of three main components:
- Sharing session: A space where senior residents, and occasionally clinical faculty or even program leadership, share personal experiences in a friendly and practical manner. Topics range from preparing for PGY1 before entering clinical practice, effective learning strategies, to experiences in writing and publishing scientific papers.
- Minigames: Designed by the organizing team in group-based formats to enhance interaction, strengthen bonds, and create a joyful atmosphere that helps relieve stress after demanding clinical work weeks.
- Food & refreshments: Light meals and afternoon tea are fully sponsored by the HSC.
To date, Bondology has been held five times, each with different themes and activities. Let’s take a look back at the memorable milestones of this event from its very beginning!
