Internal Medicine Residency Program

INTERNAL MEDICININE RESIDENCY PROGRAM

The Internal Medicine Residency Program at VinUniversity is a four-year training curriculum designed to nurture highly skilled, compassionate, and evidence-based clinicians. Accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education International (ACGME-I), the program emphasizes a competency-based clinical training model.

Throughout the program, residents rotate through core Internal Medicine specialties, developing deep expertise and confidence in managing complex cases. The curriculum seamlessly integrates clinical teaching activities, including direct clinical instruction at the patient’s bedside (Teaching Rounds), presenting of complex cases (Case Presentation), and collaborative sessions learning such as Radiology Rounds, Clinicopathological Conferences (CPC), and Morbidity and Mortality (M&M) reviews. This specialized learning system not only enhances medical knowledge but also hones clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and the ability to incorporate expert perspectives.

Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) is the cornerstone of the program. Residents are trained to make science-based diagnostic and treatment decisions while developing academic mindsets and advanced literature search skills.

Furthermore, a comprehensive assessment and feedback system is established to provide constructive guidance. This supports the continuous professional growth of each resident, ensuring the standardization of clinical competence and medical ethics for future physicians.

The Internal Medicine Residency Program at VinUniversity fosters a collaborative learning environment committed to excellence

At VinUniversity, residents are immersed in an intellectually nurturing and stimulating atmosphere that hones clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and a dedication to lifelong learning.
