Program Overview

The Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program is a four-year competency-based training program designed in alignment with international standards. Residents begin clinical training from the first semester, enabling the early development of professional competencies through immersive, hands-on patient care.

Educational Method

The program adopts a learner-centered, competency-based educational model that integrates diverse teaching and learning methods to foster clinical excellence, professionalism, and lifelong learning, including:

• Interactive classroom teaching.
• Expert-led webinars with national and international faculty.
• Small-group learning and case-based discussions.
• Simulation-based training using standardized patients and high-fidelity simulation.
• Bedside teaching and supervised clinical practice through a structured apprenticeship model.

• Practice as highly competent Obstetrics and Gynecology specialists in leading hospitals and healthcare institutions in Vietnam and internationally.
• Pursue advanced academic and subspecialty training, including PhD programs and fellowships in areas such as Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, and Advanced Gynecologic Surgery.
• Develop into future clinical leaders and academic faculty, with the potential to lead clinical teams, educational initiatives, and healthcare projects within Obstetrics and Gynecology.

• Extended subspecialty rotations, providing in-depth exposure to Reproductive Medicine, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, and High-Risk Obstetrics.
• International clinical elective opportunities, including a six-month academic exchange during the fourth year with partner institutions abroad.
• An integrated training pathway that equips residents with the competencies required for medical practice and opportunities to obtain key professional certifications, including obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound and surgical credentials, in accordance with Vietnamese healthcare regulations.
