Nguyen Thi Tuyet, MD, PhD

Designated Institutional Official (DIO), Residency Program

Dr. Nguyen Thi Tuyet graduated from Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in December, 2004. From 2005 to 2008, she was recruited into the Internal Medicine residency training at Hospital 115 in Ho Chi Minh City. Following that, she performed research training and postdoctoral research at Yonsei University, Wonju College of Medicine on the toxicity of high phosphate in insulin-secreting cells and vascular smooth muscle cells. Her research have been published in American Journal of Physiology – Endocrinology and Metabolism, FASEB journal, Journal of Biological Chemistry and other journals. She spent one year at Tan Tao University, School of Medicine as lecturer cum Head of the training department before joining the VinUni Internal Medicine Residency Program as Curriculum Development Director since 2017.

Thanh Ngoc Tien, MD, MSc

Program Director, Internal Medicine Residency Program

Dr.Thanh Ngoc Tien completed his Medical Docter degree at Hanoi Medical University. From 2010 to 2013, he was a clinician at Hanoi Lung Hospital and Saint Paul Hospital, where he treated patients with respiratory and cardiac diseases. Dr.Tien obtained his Master’s degree in Internal Medicine in 2015 from Hanoi Medical University at which point he was recruited to be a lecturer there. He spent the next 4 years working as a medical educator at various missions in addition to his clinical activities. With a desire to contribute to the effort of creating a new advanced teaching and learning environment for medical students, he decided to take part in VinUniversity Internal Medicine Residency Program.

Pham Thu Ha, MD, MSc

Clinical Lecturer
Associate Program Director, Vinmec Times City International Hospital

Dr. Pham Thu Ha has over 26 years of experience in the fields of Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Metabolic Disorders, and Diabetes. Dr. Pham Thu Ha graduated with honors and obtained a Master’s degree in Medicine from Pleven University in Pleven, Bulgaria. She has worked for over 25 years at Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi, in the Endocrinology and Diabetes Department, while also serving as a lecturer at the Department of General Internal Medicine at Hanoi Medical University. Dr. Ha has contributed to the development of formal training curricula, including writing textbooks for the Medical Multidisciplinary Program as well as several textbooks on Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Thyroid Disorders, published by Bach Mai Hospital. She has also participated in foundational research projects at Bach Mai Hospital and in collaborative research between Bach Mai Hospital and Mayo Clinic. In 2014, Dr. Ha presented a poster on Diabetes at the American Endocrine Society conference in Chicago. She is also a member of the Vietnam Endocrine and Diabetes Association and the American Thyroid Association. Currently, Dr. Pham Thu Ha serves as an Endocrinologist at the General Internal Medicine Department at Vinmec Times City International General Hospital.

Pham Van Luan, MD, PhD

Clinical Lecturer
Associated Program Director, 108 Military Central Hospital

In 2013, Dr. Pham Van Luan earned his medical degree from the Military Medical Academy. He successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis in respiratory medicine at the 108 Institute of Clinical Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2023. He is currently a clinician at the 108 Military Central Hospital in Respiratory Medicine Department. Dr. Pham Van Luan has made important contributions to the fields of science and technology, including a number of ground-breaking studies that have gained recognition both domestically and abroad for their high scientific and practical worth. In medical education, he currently serves as the Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the 108 Central Military Hospital. He is also an active member of various national and international scientific associations, including the Vietnam Respiratory Society, Vietnam Lung Association, and the Asia-Pacific Society of Respirology. Moreover, he has presented at numerous national and international respiratory and oncology conferences, such as the Vietnam Respiratory Conference, Vietnam Oncology Conference, Asia-Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR) Congress, and the World Lung Cancer Conference. He is also the co-author of a reference book published in 2024, “Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer – An Approach from Diagnosis to Treatment.”

Nguyen Van Viet Thang, MD

Clinical Lecturer, Internal Medicine Residency Program

Dr. Nguyen Van Viet Thang earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Wyoming in 2014, before continuing his medical journey with a Doctor of Medicine degree from Tan Tao University. In 2024, he officially completed the Internal Medicine Residency Program at VinUniversity. Throughout his residency training, Dr. Viet Thang was honored to be selected as the Representative for the Internal Medicine Residency team at the Postgraduate Medical Education Committee and served as the Chair of the House Staff Council. In 2023, he was awarded the EXCEL Leadership Award by VinUni for his outstanding contributions. Driven by a passion for Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, his thesis focused on the prognosis of patients with sepsis. Currently, Dr. Thang is privileged to continue his career as a Clinical Lecturer for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at VinUniversity.

Nguyen Hoang Kim Han, MD

Chief Resident cum Clinical Lecturer

Dr. Nguyen Hoang Kim Han graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City in 2020 and completed the Internal Medicine Residency Program at VinUniversity in 2024. She has received numerous awards for academic and research excellence, including the President’s List distinction for outstanding academic performance at VinUniversity and a scholarship to participate in the internship and seminar program at the Open Medical Institute in Austria. Dr. Kim Han has published three international research papers and presented them at prestigious conferences in the fields of allergy and clinical immunology. Her study abroad experiences in Austria, Taiwan, and Japan have broadened her global perspective on medical education and research. In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Kim Han holds leadership roles, including serving on the Executive Committee of the Allergy Leadership Forum (JAAFCA) within the Asia Pacific Association of Allergy, Asthma, and Clinical Immunology (APAAACI). As Chief Resident of the Internal Medicine Residency Program, Dr. Kim Han is dedicated to combining clinical expertise with a passion for medical education, actively contributing to the training and inspiration of future generations of physicians.

Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa, MSc

GME Coordinator

Ms. Hoa comes to VinUni with nearly ten years of experience in increasingly responsible role in planning and management at several governmental and non-governmental organizations including project housed by Ministry of Health; Vinmec hospital; General Department of Preventive Medicine; World Health Organization; and Viet Duc University hospital. These experiences helped her get a large portfolio of work. Ms. Hoa’s expertise is enhanced by her master’s degree in public health awarded by Hanoi Medical University in 2017. In her most recent position before joining VinUni, she managed to conduct CME training courses, workshops, and conferences for doctors, nurses and health workers. In October 2021, she joined College of Health Sciences of VinUni as an Academic Assistant and now moves to Internal Medicine Residency Program Coordinator with the desires of providing the best support to faculty members, staff, and residents toward obtaining the corporate aims of achieving a breakthrough in educational quality at the university level in Vietnam.
