Upon completion of our residency program, graduates have a variety of exciting career paths to pursue:
- Fellowship Training: Residents can further specialize in orthopaedic surgery with advanced fellowship opportunities. They can also pursue Specialist Level 2 certification in Vietnam, enhancing their expertise in specific subspecialties.
- Clinical Practice: Graduates are fully equipped to practice independently in both outpatient and inpatient settings. They can confidently serve patients in a broad range of orthopaedic care, from diagnostics to treatment and surgery.
- Chief Resident Role: As a Chief Resident, you’ll take on a full-time leadership role, managing resident assignments to ensure optimal patient care. This position offers the unique opportunity to mentor and oversee the educational development of fellow residents, participating in rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, and teaching sessions. Chief Residents also receive specialized training to transition into faculty positions, preparing for a future as a medical educator.
- Research track & PhD Opportunities: Graduates interested in research can pursue a career as full-time researchers, equipped with advanced research skills gained during residency. Additionally, for those passionate about furthering scientific knowledge, there is the opportunity to pursue a PhD in orthopaedic surgery or related fields, paving the way for an academic career or leadership roles in medical research.
