Management Courses
Nurse managers play an important role in all healthcare settings. Their work scope covers human resource management, budgeting, planning, logistics, quality assurance, etc. To meet the work demands, nurse managers need a brand new skill set completely different from those of bedside nurses. The VinUniversity CME course “Nursing Management” aims to provide a foundation of knowledge and skills in healthcare management and leadership nurses. The learners can be extended to midwives and technicians. The course consists of two parts: the onsite traning at VinUni campus and the 3-6 month support program after the first part. With the continuing support and peer-sharing program, students will be supported and guided in implementing management/leadership/service quality improvement projects. All these activities aim to produce competent nurse managers for healthcare institutions.

- 158 hours (52-hour theorical period and 106-hour practical period)

- Essential management and leadership skills.
- Operating and linking medical services.
- Nursing organization management system.
- Policy on nursing professions and related health sciences.
- Patient safety and medical incident prevention.
- Professional ethics and research ethics.
- Clinical teaching methods and staff training.
- Communication in nursing practice.
- Evidence-based practice.
- Language: Vietnamese and/or English, depending on the learners’ needs.
- Number of trainees per course: maximum 30 participants.
- Certification: CME/CPD certificates equivalent to 158 hours.

Quality management of medical services is essential for all hospital units and personnel. However, not all healthcare staff received proper training during their university programs. Therefore, the staff who dedicates his/her work to quality management needs adequate training in this area.
The VinUniversity CME course “Healthcare quality management” was developed to meet the current needs of quality management staff in the healthcare system. The course provides basic knowledge and skills in quality management, including quality management systems, quality measurement, and developing and implementing a quality improvement project.
