Clinical practice is an essential part of training in the health sector. Effective clinical teaching is the only way to help learners acquire the practical competencies and attitudes that are particularly important and determine the professional qualifications of medical staff. Therefore, the Ministry of Health has issued its national Train of Trainers program (TOT) in clinical teaching methods. The program is mandatory for all clinicians who want to teach clinical practicum sessions for healthcare students.
The VinUniversity CME course “Clinical teaching methods for Clinicians in health sectors” is designed following the national program issued by the Ministry of Health. After completing the training course, learners are qualified to teach the clinical practice in their field of expertise at health facilities.
- Who should take this course?
- Lecturers, medical staffs directly involved in teaching/instructing clinical practice at health facilities.
- People who concern/want to improve their capacity in clinical teaching methods for clinicians in health sectors.
- Course duration: 40 hours (10-hour theoretical period and 30-hour practical period).
- Course Content:
- Overview of clinical teaching, outcomes-based teaching, competencies-based teaching, and quality assurance of clinical teaching.
- Developing learning objectives.
- Clinical teaching methods, with and without the participation of patients.
- Essential skills of clinical instructors.
- Competencies assessment in clinical teaching.
- Development of clinical teaching plans and supervising clinical practices.
- Language: Vietnamese and/or English, depending on the learners’ needs.
- Number of trainees per course: maximum 20 participants.
- Certification: CME/CPD certificates equivalent to 40 hours.
- Fee: 5.000.000 VND/course/person.

Having the research published in journals is essential for every researcher. The quality of the manuscript somehow reflects the academic reputation of the authors. It also helps to bring the authors’ findings and knowledge to the community. This course offers the learners basic academic writing skills, the publication and peer review process, and the preparation of manuscripts to meet selected local Vietnamese journals’ requirements.

This course focuses on developing questionnaires and their psychometric properties.
