INTRODUCTION TO MEASUREMENT IN HEALTH RESEARCH

Research tools are an essential component of any research. More than a list of questions or empty boxes for respondents to answer, behind each qualified measurement is a complex background integrating behavioral science, medical science, psychology, sociology, mathematics, and statistics. This course provides fundamental knowledge of measurement in health studies.

1. Who should take this course?

– Medical staff and students in healthcare fields
– People who are interested in measurement

2. Course duration:

32 hours (16-hour theoretical period and 16-hour practical period)

3. Course Content:

– Overview of measurement and latent variable.
– Scales of measure.
– Reliability and the evaluation of the reliability.
– Validity and the evaluation of the validity
– Common bias and errors in measurement
– Issues of translation, copyright, and amendments of the measurement
– Measurement selection
– Verify and analyze questionnaire research in the Literature Review and Methodology.

4. The language used in the course: Vietnamese and/or English, depending on the learners’ needs

5. The number of trainees per course: maximum 20 participants.

6. Certification: CME/CPD certificates equivalent to 32 hours

7. Fee: 3.000.000 VND/course/person
