About the instructor:

Dr. Liem Binh Luong Nguyen is specialized in internal medicine and infectious diseases, working at Hôpital Cochin Port Royal, Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris, and assistant professor at Université de Paris Cité. He studied at Ecole Normale Supérieure-Ulm in Paris, earned a master’s degree in microbiology (Institut Pasteur Paris), a master of public health at Harvard TH School of public health and a PhD in Epidemiology at Université de Paris Cité. He is specialized in the epidemiology of vaccine preventable diseases, with a focus on real world vaccine effectiveness, and in modelling and cost-effectiveness of chronic viral diseases. He has previous work experiences in Central African Republic, Kenya, and Vietnam, where he is involved in a modelling and cost-effectiveness study on HIV care in Vietnam (MOVIDA-CE). He values medical and science education, with previous experience as Teaching Fellow at the Harvard School of Public Health, and teaching now at Université de Paris Cité.

This course will give you a brief introduction to cost-effective analysis and modeling through hands-on activities.

  • Learning Objectives:
    • Critically appraise modelling and cost-effectiveness studies
    • Determine relevant outcomes for a modelling study
    • Design a mathematical model
    • Collect input data
    • Perform and interpret cost-effectiveness calculation

    This workshop will be delivered in English.
  • Number of participants: 30 (maximum 50)
  • Certificate: Upon the completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of attendance (for students) or a CME certificate (for working health professionals).
